Saugatuck Expo
For 30 days straight, the Saugatuck Expo transforms June into a month-long celebration of the Art Coast of Michigan’s artistic communities. With a longstanding reputation for creativity, talent, and collaboration (and by longstanding we mean over 150 years), the Saugatuck and Douglas region has captivated tourists and visitors with its diverse art that displays itself in so many forms.
The first week of June kicks off the Expo with the culinary arts and we are so very thankful for that. The talented chefs and culinary professionals of the area showcase the best flavors the region has to offer with a roster full of foodie-focused events. It also means Restaurant Week is upon us! Eat out at any of our participating restaurants for specials that allow you to experience curated, specially-coursed menus by talented chefs at $10, $15, and $30 price points. Participating restaurants include Borrowed Time, GROW, Pumpernickels, Salt of the Earth, The Butler, and more.
The second week of the Saugatuck Expo celebrates the region’s fine arts. Explore dozens of art galleries and art studios or listen to one of Michigan’s hottest indie-folk bands. Participate in the summer gallery stroll on June 8th to view artwork on display and for sale. You’ll also get to talk to some of the artists themselves who offer unique experiences.
In week three, you’ll find live music performances all over town while the fourth week focuses on the performing arts of theater productions, comedy shows, and other entertainment. The final weekend of the Saugatuck Expo (June 28-30) encompasses a renaissance festival anchored by the multiple free performances by the Pigeon Creek Shakespeare Company.
With so much fun on so many different dates, you now have quite a decision to make. Which weekend will you be making a trip to Saugatuck?
