Hungry Village Tours in Saugatuck, MI
Hungry Village Tours is a great way to get that authentic, behind-the-scenes glimpse into what makes Saugatuck “tick,” so to speak. Local culture, food, wine, and customs will all have some of their secrets revealed. Before you know it, you’ll be feeling like a local. Hungry Village Tours offers two options: walking or riding.
A Culinary Walk is all about the secrets behind the famous storefronts of Saugatuck and Douglas. Butler Street is jam-packed with a variety of specialty shops, tasting rooms, general stores, and so much more, and the Hungry Village Tour includes ample samples and sips! Tickets for adults are $30.
On the Delicious Drive tour, explore the routes through colorful farms and the creative artisans that are known as our lakeshore producers. They feed our community with healthy, organic, and vibrant options and provide professional quality artistic and functional works for us to enjoy in our homes. Stop by a pottery studio and take home a vase, or savor the tastings of the gourmet samples straight from the farm. On these lush farms, discover some of Saugatuck’s most treasured orchards, pick fruit from a blueberry plantation, and find out which winery has the absolute best red you’ve ever had. Included in the tour are niche businesses including organic fruit and vegetable farms, artisan cheese makers, and earthenware potters. As you get to know the faces behind the farm-to-fork movement in the region, take some time to relax and get to know some of your companions on your adventure for the day at Salt of the Earth’s “chef’s table” lunch. It will be made from the freshest ingredients around and the warm, friendly welcome is a staple when dining at this restaurant. Tickets for adults for the Delicious Drive tour are $90. Private group tours are available for $75 per person.
Hungry Village Tours are six hours long, 10 am-4 pm, Tuesday through Saturday, May through September. Rendezvous at the Saugatuck Center for the Arts for your tour. Get more information on Hungry Village Tours and book your tour before September is over!
